Prayers for Richmond

10/5/2020

 Adapted from www.City-by-City.org

Father, according to Jeremiah 29:7, we are to seek You for the peace and prosperity of our city. Today, we
pray to You for the welfare of Richmond, knowing its welfare will determine our welfare.

As citizens of
Richmond, Richmond is the place You have given us to dwell in and to exercise our authority over. We declare Richmond drinks water from the rain of heaven. It is a land for which our God cares for, the eyes of the Lord our God are always on it, from the beginning of the year to the very end of the year. (Deut. 11:10-12)

We thank You that Your thoughts for Richmond are thoughts of peace and not evil, to give us a good future and continuous hope. (Jeremiah 29:11)

We bow our hearts before You this day and we repent of the sins of our city. We ask You to forgive our sins and cleanse Richmond from all unrighteousness. We ask for a divine visitation of the Holy Spirit in Richmond. May our city, as a whole, turn to God. We declare Jesus is Lord over this city. (Neh. 1:6-7, 1 John 1:9)

We praise and worship You today and thank You for bringing us here to dwell. From this day forth, we will only speak Your words and Your will over our city. We take authority over every negative word that has been spoken over Richmond and we declare them null and void in Jesus name. We declare every curse or prayer of evil over our city to be powerless- in JEsus' name–they will produce no fruit here. We decree that God rules and reigns in Richmond from this day, forevermore.

We declare fear cannot reside in
Richmond. Fear, in the name of Jesus, you must go now. We further declare that division will not reign in our city. We cast out the spirit of division. We declare unity reigns in Richmond. Where there is unity, God commands the blessing of life evermore –therefore Richmond is inundated with life ever more from this time forth. (Ps. 133:3)

We declare today, sickness and disease will not gain a foothold in
Richmond. We declare the God-fearing people in our city are strong in God and in the power of His might. There will be no feeble among us! We walk in the fullness of healing that was purchased for us at the Cross. (Ps. 105:37)

We declare this day that
Richmond and its governmental officials will do ONLY what is good and right in the eyes of the Lord. We ask You God to remove every elected and non-elected official who does not have the best interest of the people in his/her heart. We ask that only the upright dwell in our government (Proverbs 2:22).  We ask You to remove any evil stronghold that is present in our government. We declare that in Richmond, its leaders and officials will observe and obey the laws and commandments of the Lord. We commit this day to build fortified walls around our city. Walls of the spoken Word of God. Walls of praise and worship. Walls of prophetic declaration. Walls that cannot be demolished, but will forever prosper, in Jesus’ name. (2 Chron. 14:2-7, 1 Tim. 2:1-4)

We thank You, that as we pray, within Richmond, You give us rest on every side. We declare our city is at peace and undisturbed at all times because it is under Your reign. (2 Chron. 14:7)  Your Word says, “Unless the Lord guards the city, we stay awake in vain.” We ask You to guard Richmond from this day forth, knowing whatever we ask in prayer, we receive. Thank You God, for guarding Richmond day and night. We thank You that as the mountains surround Jerusalem, You surround us and our city, forever more. We ask You to send warring angels to surround our borders, and keep out all evil and those with evil intent. We declare that the gates of Richmond are closed to those involved in drugs, trafficking, greed, pride, murder and other evils, that theybe redeemed or  leave our city and never come back in Jesus name. (Psalm 127:1, Ps. 125-2, Ps 91:11-12)

We declare and decree,
Richmond's streets will be filled with healthy people, young and old, who have been and desire to be blessed by God. That our children, our boys and girls, will play daily in our city, safe and unafraid for God is watching over our city. We declare and decree this day, Richmond is at total peace, is living in God's prosperity, is walking in obedience to God and Your Word, and dwelling together in unity. We ask You to bless our city. May Your hand forever be upon Richmond. Send us an outpouring of Your Spirit!. May Your glory to be revealed in Richmond.  May Richmond bring You glory. We ask all of this in Jesus' mighty Name . Amen. (Zech. 8:4-5)

Prayer Points for Your City

9/8/2020

Taken from Wanda Alger  September 8, 2020 post at https://wandaalger.me/author/wakeupcaller/

To establish the Lordship of Christ and God’s peace on your community, pray for:

Cleansing of any idolatry or double-mindedness: Lord, forgive us for the idols in our land. We confess we have looked to fleshly attractions and entertainment, people of title and fame, and the accumulation of worldly goods instead of You*. Cleanse us for being divided in our hearts and minds and give us an undivided heart that we might serve you wholly and without reserve. Wash us with your Word and give us a new spirit that would cause us to walk in your ways (1 John 2:16; James 1:8; Ezekiel 36:26-27). *Repent of any specific place, person, or thing that has become an idol.

The fear of the Lord to be upon the city: We choose to live in the fear of the Lord and not the fear of man. We pledge, O God, to fear your name above all others and to look to You as the only source of life, liberty, and every good thing. Lord, give us a singleness of heart and action so that we will always fear the Lord for our own good and the good of our children. May the fear of the Lord rest upon our families, our churches, our businesses and schools, our government and every sector of our city so that it may go well with us and that your covenant will stand secure (James 1:17, Proverbs 14:26, Jeremiah 32:38-41, Psalm 25:12-14)

The angelic host to accomplish their assignments: Father, we thank you for the angels that you have sent to aid and assist us in this battle. We ask for and acknowledge their presence in our city to guard, keep, and protect every citizen from harm. We bless their assignments to war against any enemy of the kingdom and to push back the forces of evil on our behalf.  We thank you that this battle is not ours, but Yours. (Psalm 34:7, Psalm 91:11, Hebrews 12:22)

The altar of His presence to be established: Lord, establish our city as a dwelling place of your presence, a light in the darkness, and a refuge for the lost. Raise up prayer and worship altars across our region that will continually offer sacrifices of praise and thanksgiving to welcome your rule and reign on this land. Expose and remove any and every idolatrous place of worship that attracts the darkness and render their altars ineffective and powerless. We dedicate ourselves to daily seek Your face and know your heart for the sake of your kingdom (Ezekiel 37:26-28, Isaiah 66:1, Psalm 27:8).

The peace of the Lord to overshadow the land: We speak PEACE to every storm the enemy tries to stir up and we speak PEACE to every heart that is troubled. We declare our community to be a city of peace and rest and reject and resist any spirit of agitation, fear, or violence that seeks entry. We declare the goodness of God and the rule of heaven to overshadow and displace every work of darkness that seeks to steal, kill, and destroy our faith in God. Greater is He who is in us than he that is in the world. We decree the Prince of Peace as ruler of our land and that the government will rest on His shoulders of which there will be no end (Mark 4:39, Exodus 33:14, Psalm 91:1, Isaiah 9:6)

The establishment of godly leadership: Father, we ask for godly leadership to be firmly established in our community and for every counterfeit, rebel, and traitor to be removed. We ask that those who have been called and appointed for leadership in this hour to be revealed, acknowledged, and affirmed, rightly positioned and placed in the fields you have assigned them. We speak blessing on every shepherd in our city whose heart is fully yielded to You and ask for an increase of grace and favor in their lives. May every sector in our community be influenced and guided by leaders who are fully aligned with your heart and purposes (Exodus 18:21, Proverbs 16:7, Hebrews 13:7, 2 Timothy 2:15).

The wisdom and knowledge of the Lord to be revealed: Lord, give us your wisdom, knowledge, and understanding to reveal and expose the hidden things of darkness to bring them into the light. By Your Spirit, teach us your ways to rightly discern between good and evil that we might walk in truth and integrity. Grow us as your sons and daughters to be ambassadors of your kingdom and representatives of heaven. May we operate in increased wisdom and discernment that would attract nonbelievers and demonstrate the power and authority of your kingdom (Daniel 2:21-22, 1 Corinthians 2:7-10).

Father, we declare our community to be under the Lordship of Christ and under the rule of heaven that you might be known and that every knee will bow and every tongue confess that you, alone, are God. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

PRAYER POINTS FOR YOUR CITY
October 14, 2019
Lord God, we pray for the peace of our cities.
We are reprinting this article from our archives. Tensions are hot in the country and we are urging intercessors to fortify their own communities in prayer. The following prayer points come from Bowie, Maryland on their website Turn on the Light Bowie.
from: https://ifapray.org/blog/prayer-points-for-your-city/

Pray for Spiritual Awakening in the Churches in your City.
Pray the Scriptural prayers found in Eph 1:15-21, 3:14-21; Phil 1:9-11; Col 1:9-12, 4:12; 1 Thes 3:10-13, 5:23; 2 Thes 1:11-12, 2:16-17, 3:1-5; Phil 4-6; and Heb 13:20-21.
When you pray these Scriptures, insert the name of congregations and assemblies in your city, asking God to bring the fullness of Jesus’ life into the church. Remember the example of Epaphras, a servant of Christ who “wrestled in prayer” for the Christians that lived in three cities – Colosse, Laodicia, and Hierapolis (Col 4:12).

2.  Pray For the Removal of the Spiritual Strongholds of Darkness over your City.
Ephesians 6:12 teaches of the constant spiritual battle in the heaven lies.. actual strongholds that the enemy has over geographic areas. (see also Dan 10:10-13).
Command the “rulers, authorities, powers of this dark world, and the spiritual forces of evil” in the north, south, east, and west of your city to “give up” those people held in spiritual bondage (see Is 43:5,6). Praise the Lord that people will come to Jesus from the four sections of your city. (Lk 13:29)

3.  Pray for the Leadership and Authorities in your City
– such as the Mayor, the City Council, Police Chief, School Board, etc. – 1 Tim 2:1-4.

4.  Ask God to Bless your City.
“Through the blessing of the upright a city is exalted” – Proverbs 11:11
The greatest blessing God can send is Jesus Christ, who will turn people from their wickedness, and bring them salvation. – Acts 3:26.

5.  Pray for the Welfare of your City.
“…seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the LORD for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.” – Jeremiah 29:7

6.  Pray for the People of your City to Turn to God.
Remember the Nineveh (read Jn 3:1-10) and Samaria did (John 4:39-42).

7.  Pray for Peace within your City and for the Prosperity of the City. – Psalm 122:6,7

8.  Pray for your City to Support Righteousness and Goodness.
“When the righteous prosper, the city rejoices; when the wicked perish, there are shouts of joy.” – Proverbs 11:10

9.  Pray for your City to be a Testimony of Righteousness. – Matthew 5:14,16

10. Pray that your City would recognize the time of God’s visitation. – Luke 19:41-44

Prayers for Protesters

As the Church of our Lord Father Most High, we shut the door to all who are coming to the city with nefarious motives.

We ask You to destroy evil plans and schemes; to dismantle triggers and all programming devices; we ask you to sever communication systems.

Arise, Oh Lord and let your enemies be scattered.  We ask You, God, to cancel all assignments against our city that are coming from the spirits violence, rage, murder, destruction, perversity and lying.

We ask the Holy Spirit to bring shalom/peace over our city. We ask You to post warring angels around the city and activate Your people at the gates.

We speak blessings over the law enforcement leadership and officers. We agree that God will give wisdom and strategies to local law enforcement, which will preempt the plans of the enemy.

We declare our city to be a city which belongs to the Lord.

We declare that God has a divine destiny for our city and we agree and call that forth.

We declare justice and righteousness will prevail.

We bless this territory with a double portion of joy and agree that the mountains are trembling and His people will dance upon injustice!

The Father's Kingdom come, His will be done in our city as in heaven.

Wherever I go, I declare the Kingdom of Light has come.

We speak blessings over our city, surrounding area, our state, and the USA!!

10 Principles To Help guard, keep and occupy your city

7/31/2020

10 PRINCIPLES TO HELP GUARD, KEEP, AND OCCUPY YOUR CITYby Wanda Alger Does the Church of your city have a unified voice that stands for Kingdom values in the public square? Is your congregation or community ready to not only take a stand against the rising rebellion and lawlessness in our city streets, but take the lead in establishing something better? If the Church is supposed to be the Spirit-filled life-giving force that brings purpose and order into our chaotic world, how are we doing?
National transformation can only happen when there is a cumulative effect of individual cities and regions both taking and occupying their land for a righteous cause. It’s at the local level that change must start. We must not only displace wicked rulers in high places, we must have the needed influence and authority to govern our land the way God has always intended, starting right at home. God is calling out to cities to take a stand for righteousness. The only thing that will hinder Him from moving in our community, is us. We are the ones who must take ownership in this call and take action. (from “Moving from Sword to Scepter”)
Now is the time for Christ-followers to rise up and work together within our own communities to guard, keep, and occupy the spiritual gates of our community. Here are ten principles I share in my recent book that can help establish a SPIRITUAL PERIMETER around our cities.
  • Establish a consistent (preferably weekly) time of prayer with a core group of believers with a heart for the city (see Hebrews 10:24).
    1. It’s not the size of the group that matters as much as a firm commitment to consistently and faithfully pray for the city.
    2. To be a true “community” prayer group with corporate authority in prayer, seek participation with believers from across the city and not just one fellowship.
  • Build your unity around the person of Jesus Christ, the truth of His Word, and the power and leading of the Holy Spirit (see Ephesians 4:3-6)
    1. As believers our unity must be based around the Person of Jesus Christ, not a doctrine, ideology, or ministry agenda.
    2. Choose your battles. Don’t get distracted by side issues but keep your focus on becoming a community where God’s tangible peace and presence can dwell.
  • Focus on what God is doing more than what the enemy is doing (see Psalm 66:5).
    1. Look for indicators of God’s blessing and favor and bless that which He is already doing in the city. Come into agreement with what God has spoken through His Word.
    2. Keep praise central. The high praises of God’s people has power to bring down strongholds (see 2 Chronicles 20:22).
  • As issues arise, deal with them through repentance and forgiveness (see Daniel 10:12).
    1. Unresolved sin issues become open doors for the enemy. As the Holy Spirit reveals root issues on the land, ask the Lord for wisdom and take steps to clear the land of any sin, immorality, bloodshed, broken covenants, or idolatry through prayers of repentance, both personally and corporately.
    2. When appropriate, go on-site to the places where the Lord has revealed any defilement and take communion, pray, and worship in order to cleanse the land.
  • Maintain a heart of humility and walk in the fear of the Lord (see Psalm 33:18).
    1. Honor those in spiritual authority; bless them and pray for them, even those you disagree with (1 Tim 2:2).
    2. Determine to walk “offense-free” and practice forgiveness and forbearance towards others.
  • Build trusted relationships with other catalytic leaders (see Ecclesiastes 4:12).
    1. These leaders may not be in the church, but in business, education, entertainment, government and other sectors of your city. Strive to work together towards Kingdom-centered values and presence-based community transformation.
    2. Seek to establish an atmosphere in the city where all believers are inspired to be a bold witness for Christ.
  • Establish prayer altars throughout the city (see 2 Samuel 24:25).
    1. Prayer altars help to establish a wall of prayer around a city (see Acts 18:10).
    2. Whether they are in schools, work places, offices, city streets, or churches, intercessory groups become living altars where the incense of their prayers and worship ascend to heaven on behalf of the city (see Leviticus 6:13).
  • Look for opportunities to be a corporate witness to the power of Christ (see Romans 15:5).
    1. When appropriate, demonstrate the oneness of Christ in the public square. A corporate witness and testimony has authority in the spirit to thwart any scheme of the enemy.
    2. Pray for spiritual leaders to speak with one voice in the city and give godly wisdom when faced with threats of danger.
  • Speak well of your city and bless it with your words and your works (see Isaiah 61:4).
    1. Speaking blessings on a city releases favor, especially to those who lead it. Determine to nullify any curses spoken by speaking the opposite, declaring God’s Word and promises.
    2. Put your prayers into action and look for ways to demonstrate the kindness of God through acts of compassion.
  • Practice generosity in spirit and action (see Acts 4:32-33).
    1. Put your prayers into action by serving others and sharing from your own storehouse.
    2. Determine to BE the solution within your own city walls by modeling love and compassion.
